Lime Rock Park Hosts Breakfast with Santa

Lime Rock Park got in the holiday spirit Saturday, 2 December 2006 as it co-sponsored Breakfast with Santa, a charity event for Toys for Tots. The Wake Robin Inn and Lime Rock Park invited everyone in the community to celebrate the season of giving as they donated new unwrapped toys and enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast.

A success? Undoubtedly. Every family brought a toy to donate and most families brought more than one for a grand total of 137 gifts for all ages. Not only did Toys for Tots receive a nice contribution, but every child that donated had a chance to win a brand new bike and left with a gift of their own. Lime Rock Park gave over 50 free Big Y Kids Club memberships and goodie bags to every child that attended.

As children waited in line to give their wish list to Santa, the Sharon Audubon displayed two live owls for all to admire. Although some were hesitant to get near, they all were eager to know and learn about the species. As the event came to an end, Santa drew the winning ticket for the free bike and one lucky girl, Lily Bibro of Salisbury, CT, went home with her very own brand new bike.

As Lime Rock Park strives to continue its involvement in the area, Breakfast with Santa is just the beginning of many community related activities that will continue to unite Lime Rock Park with the local area. “Being from New York City I have not experienced such a close-knit community feel during the holidays,” expressed Maria Jannace, Chief Marketing Officer for Lime Rock Park. “It was a pleasure to be involved in such a rewarding holiday event and to get to meet some of my neighbors and fellow residents.”

It’s always great when businesses can come together and put on a fun and festive event for the community. “Lime Rock Park made this the best Breakfast with Santa yet. They were professional, organized and added an enjoyable and entertaining element,” acknowledged Michael Loftus, owner of Wake Robin Inn. Lime Rock Park is proud and excited to continue its involvement with the community as the new year approaches.
