There will be a new highlight at this year’s Ferrari Racing Days and it will have a distinctly historic feel.

The Shell Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge will anchor the Ferrari Racing Days, July 21-22.

“Ferrari North America is pleased to announce the addition of Lime Rock Park to the 2006 Shell Ferrari/Maserati Historic Challenge,” said, Marco Mattiacci, Vice President of Marketing, Ferrari North America. “Lime Rock Park has been a traditional part of the Shell Historics and is one of the more popular stops on the series’ schedule. We’re looking forward to another great event this season.”

The Shell Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge will give fans the chance to see, hear and feel some of the classic battles that put Ferrari and Maserati at the forefront of sports car racing in the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s.

It could be the screaming wail of a 12-cylinder Ferrari Testa Rossa or the growl of a V-8-engined Maserati 450S. Or perhaps you’re a fan of Ferrari 250 GTs and GTOs or the powerful Ferrari 512. The Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge will even take you back to the 1930s and the Alfa Romeos that ran under the guiding hand of Enzo Ferrari.

Not only will you be able to watch these fabulous cars on the track, but you can also get a true appreciation of them on a tour through the Paddock.

The two-day event will also include track days for the Empire State Region Ferrari Club of America. More than 75 Ferraris, including Ferrari 355 and 360 Challenge cars and perhaps a few 333 SP prototypes, are expected at this FCA event.

So don’t miss a unique opportunity to witness the memorable history of Ferrari and Maserati – not in a museum – but in action again on a race track. Only at the Ferrari Racing Days at Lime Rock Park.
